Rosenstigen is named after a rose found in monastery environments, Rosa alba ‘Gudhem’. A nature trail, about 2 km, through a cultural landscape that tells the story of how people have lived here for thousands of years.
In this area you can see remains from the time of the monks here in Varnhem. These are remains from the water system they built for the water supply of the monastery, according to the architect Axel Forssén. The water came from the mountain side and was lead by a dug canal lined with stones to the monastery via man-made dams.
