Rosenstigen is named after a rose found in monastery environments, Rosa alba ‘Gudhem’. A nature trail, about 2 km, through a cultural landscape that tells the story of how people have lived here for thousands of years.
Kyrkogatan, as we see it today, was constructed in 1781 after a threatening fire near the church. One of the buildings in the fire was the inn, and after the fire it was moved to another location. The street Kyrkogatan was straightened and became the main road to get to the west gate of the church. The trees that we see in the alley today were planted around 1900.
