Rosenstigen is named after a rose found in monastery environments, Rosa alba ‘Gudhem’. A nature trail, about 2 km, through a cultural landscape that tells the story of how people have lived here for thousands of years.
The Trädgården farm was named after the big medieval garden that surrounded the large monastery on the east side. The garden was later donated to Skara Hospital. During the second half of the 19th century, a dairy was started here. The barns were located in the same spots then as they are today. After a fire in the 1930’s the dairy was remodeled into a bakery that was in use during the 1940’s.
